About the EH Family
Based in Singapore, always plotting the next road trip.
We're the EH family, based in Singapore — a family that would rather be behind the wheel of a rental car on a quiet mountain road than stuck in an airport lounge. What started as the occasional overseas holiday slowly turned into a genuine habit of self-drive and fly-drive road trips, mostly across Asia, wherever a good route and an interesting landscape lined up.
Japan has become something of a second home for us — we've lost count of how many times we've picked up a rental car at a regional airport and pointed it toward wherever looked quietest on the map. But we've chased the same kind of open-road travel through China's Yunnan terraces and northeastern winters, Malaysia's rural rice country, South Korea's Jeju Island, and the contrasting energy of Hong Kong and Macau.
We're drawn to the regions that don't always make the highlight reel — the valleys and coastlines a little further off the beaten path, where a good day of driving is just as memorable as the destination at the end of it. Photography has always been part of how we travel too; certifications and gear aside, it's really just an excuse to slow down and actually look at where we are.
This blog exists mostly for us — a place to keep the stories, the routes, and the practical details straight before memory smooths them over. If it's useful to another family planning a similar trip, that's a welcome bonus. Either way, we're glad you're here, and we hope it gives you a reason to consider the road less taken on your next trip too.
